As a concrete expression of their mission to reveal God's merciful love, the SCMM Sisters view pastoral work as an integral part of their calling in life. In Indonesia, the sisters faithfully carry out their pastoral work, actively participating in various spiritual activities in parishes and communities. They accompany spiritual groups such as the Legion of Mary, Divine Mercy, charismatic groups, accompanying Catholic Youth, teenagers, and children, coaching choirs, accompanying altar servers, being sacristans in churches, accompanying children receiving their First Communion and Confirmation, providing catechesis on the Catholic faith, participating in community prayers with the faithful, and serving as members of the Parish Council.
In addition, the Sisters also do pastoral visits to the sick, the elderly, and those serving time in prison, to give spiritual and moral support. There are still many other pastoral works that are carried out with love and loyalty, which cannot be described one by one. Through all these pastoral works, the SCMM Sisters embody the charism of the congregation, which is “Love through Mercy.” Their presence is a tangible sign of God's love among the people, especially for the little ones, the weak, and those in need. With a spirit of sincere devotion, the Sisters continue to strive to build a living, hopeful, and sustainable community of faith, in accordance with their calling.
Through all their work in the fields of education, social services, health, and psychological counselling, the Sisters of SCMM Indonesia continue to fulfil their primary mission of bringing the compassionate face of God into the world. With open hearts and hands ready to serve, the Sisters work alongside the community to build a more humane, just, and loving life.
