Everyone who has received the Sacrament of Baptism receives the sacred task of being a priest, king, and prophet. To be a Christian means to live according to the Gospel in the practice of love, justice, and solidarity. The SCMM sisters in Timor Leste carry out their pastoral ministry faithfully, participating in various spiritual activities in parishes and communities. Although their pastoral locations are sometimes difficult, they remain enthusiastic in carrying out their ministry. They give catechesis and retreats to the faithful during Advent and Lent, bring communion to the elderly from house to house, accompany Catholic children and youth, accompany children receiving their first communion, participate in neighborhood prayers with the faithful, and help children learn to read and write.
In addition, the sisters also make pastoral visits to the sick, the elderly, and broken homes. Their presence is a tangible sign of God's love among the faithful, especially for the little ones, the weak, and those in need. Through all these pastoral works, they embody the charism of the congregation, which is Love through Compassion. True love is not limited to words, but is manifested in concrete actions.
In community life, a life of prayer and compassionate works, the presence of each Sister is a sign of hope and commitment to the Kingdom of God, where mercy becomes concrete action and love is transformed into service. We continue to strive with humility and simplicity, making our lives as a mission and our mission as an expression of love and mercy.
