Timor Leste - Education

Education is one of the compassionate services we provide and instill in children in accordance with the charism and spirituality of SCMM, so that they can apply it in their lives, families, and society in general. Through education, we instill the value of compassion to respect and love one another with mercy, without discriminating against ethnicity, race, and background. Education is not only about knowledge, but also faith and life values such as solidarity and love for others. These life values will be useful in changing lives, illuminating the path, and preparing their hearts to build a more just, fraternal, and hopeful world.

Compassionate education is driven by the charism of mercy that shapes an integral person, dedicating oneself with love and careful attention to the human, intellectual, and spiritual development of children. Doing small things with great care and love is the seed for the future.

In the field of education, we serve children at St. Lukas Kindergarten - Ossu. We nurture and educate them to be more independent and responsible, and to have a strong fighting spirit for their future. We believe that nurturing and educating them is one of the hopes in building a more just and humane future, full of compassionate love. In our teaching and learning activities, we accompany, educate, and nurture children to learn while playing and play while learning, recognize letters and numbers, and teach them good manners and politeness towards others. We also strive to prevent violence through our attitudes, words, and actions and seek to develop their hearts and minds through educational and inspiring experiences.

The sisters also serve in the field of education in government and diocesan schools. We serve children in elementary, junior high, and high schools. Although we serve in schools that do not belong to the congregation, we continue to instill the values of compassion in those we serve.
