Working Visit to Brazil

Sisters Miranda and Elisângela are currently making a working visit to the International Province in Brazil, sharing moments of encounter, listening, prayer, and reflection with the sisters and those involved in our mission.

The visit began in the district of Ibó, in Pernambuco, where they were warmly welcomed by members of the Movement of Mercy with a dinner prepared with great care. The following day, the sisters visited elderly people in the local community and members of the Movement who are ill. They also shared a moment of prayer and life-sharing, strengthening bonds of fraternity and communion.

The sisters also travelled to Olinda, where they visited the church where Dom Helder Câmara, a great prophet of peace and advocate for the poor and justice, is buried.

Dom Helder Câmara is the namesake of the Dom Helder Câmara Foundation in Bayeux, Paraíba, one of the Congregation’s works dedicated to supporting and promoting the well-being of children and adolescents.

The visit has been an opportunity to walk together, strengthen communion, and recognise, through these different encounters, the living presence of the charism of mercy.
