St. Lydia Bali Community was established at the request of the Sisters to have a transit house to facilitate their vacation and work trips. The Provincial Leadership Council followed up on this request, and in January 2008 found a strategic 320 m² plot of land in Jimbaran, about 10 minutes from Ngurah Rai Airport, which was then chosen as the location for the SCMM convent.
On August 12, 2009, the Provincial Leadership Council finally submitted a request to Mgr. Silvester San, Pr, Bishop of Denpasar, to establish an SCMM community in the area. The request was well received and approved by the Bishop, and the Sisters were even allowed to work and serve the needs of the local community.
The construction of the transit house in Jimbaran was completed at the end of June 2010, and on July 1, 2010, Sr. Ivana Pangalila and Sr. Akuina Sumarni were sent to work there. To this day, the SCMM sisters remain faithful in assisting with pastoral and educational services by managing the Sanjose High School owned by the Archdiocese of Denpasar.
